Mommy Self-care?

Okay, mom’s, I know I’ve been missing in action. Please accept my sincere apologies, mom life for me is busy and exhausting. Trying to balance it all continues to be my struggle area. Anywho, let’s get into it!

I don’t know about you all, but “self-care” after a baby has been difficult. I don’t know if it’s because I don’t feel like it, my funds consistently go towards my daughter, or it’s natural to stop doing things pre-baby. Here lately, I’ve realized that I must stop the madness and start back focusing on myself. Yeah, I’m losing myself, BUT I fight for her (the me I used to be). I love my daughter so much, but I also love me, and with that notion, I’ve gained a newfound understanding that I MUST practice self-care. I’ll call it “mommy self-care” as a single mom; the things I want to complete the most, like soaking in the tub, drinking a cup of coffee, to stare at the ceiling, ALL get interrupted. Tragic right? My daughter is attached to my hip and doesn’t understand that mommy needs a few minutes.

How will I move forward? Glad you asked. My goal is to start small and choose days out of the week to do the small things; perhaps, when she’s in a night of deep sleep, I will be successful. All I know is that it’s worth the try. I’m tired, oh so tired, but I want to get back to me, and it’ll start with self-care, “mommy self-care.” I’m all for suggestions; if you have any, drop me a comment. That’s all for now! Until next time, continue to be a BOSS MOM!

Xoxo,

Tisha
