Conquering Motherhood, Maybe Not

There is no recipe to motherhood, that’s for sure, because if there were, I’d be requesting it. Here lately, motherhood has been kicking my tail. I’m sleep-deprived, I cannot get much work done while at home, my home is not tidy, and sadly I cannot work on my dissertation as much as I’d like to or, better yet, need to.

While feeling defeated and completely overwhelmed, I won’t give up! This blog post is not about my struggle per se, but an outlet, a way to express and reassure myself to keep going even though it is hard, and I mean HARD! My daughter means the world to me, and each day, I do it for her.

One of the most important things I’m learning to do is to create a solid plan, manage my time, and attempt at the “balance” aspect of motherhood, career, entrepreneurship, and academics. My daughter will always come first, but I’ve been feeling down about not excelling like I’m used to. This journey, motherhood, is challenging, and no, I am not built “Ford Tough,” I'm a human being; motherhood is a foreign area. I'm learning every day. She and I are learning and growing every day.

What advice would you give a trying mother? A tired mother? A mother who needs few words of wisdom? Hopefully, one day soon, I'll have some advice to give, but until then, I'm all ears (eyes)!

Xoxo,

The Mom Boss Hustler
